The funding model
Readers choose what gets tested
Donors and newsletter subscribers take part in regular polls to choose which comforters we test next. Small contributions directly cover retail acquisition and third-party laboratory costs.
Reader funding removes any financial dependency on bedding retailers or brands, so results answer to readers alone.

Comforter acquisition
Retail purchases of each selected comforter, bought anonymously so products are evaluated as shoppers receive them.
Thread count tests
Laboratory measurement of shell materials and weave density, reported alongside air permeability results.
Cleanliness tests
Third-party laboratory checks for fill purity and turbidity, so cleanliness is measured rather than assumed.
